29A- Venture Concept No. 2

Opportunity:

   My opportunity is to make care packages full of healthy meats and vegetables, such as the ones for army troops, and to supply the packages to underdeveloped countries and the countries that have been hit the hardest by pandemics. I would also supply the underdeveloped countries with hygiene packages as a bonus to their purchases. These packages will be for the ones who cannot afford the food within their respective regions and also, the ones who rather reside in their homes to evade the coronavirus. These packages would help push the development for underdeveloped countries, and help ensure safety/reduce the risks of contracting any virus that comes about.
   The sudden rise of, Coronavirus, immediately brought this idea to my mind. I also took it further than that, if it can be a viable resource, why not branch it off to underdeveloped countries who truly need help. Geographically, I'm aiming for third world countries and then the U.S. Demographically, this care package will be bought by consumers who can generally order things at will, 18 and up, and give to their families once received. Customers are going out and stocking up on food so they won't have to go out, to satisfy this need. They're very loyal as they want to stay healthy and practice "social distancing" to keep away from the virus. This opportunity is humongous, as it will help underdeveloped countries be able to receive healthy food, and also reduce the cases of the virus when people are in their houses, waiting for the care package to be delivered. This window of opportunity will be open for as long as the virus is going on and/or as long as the underdeveloped countries need to further their advancement.

Innovation:

   This opportunity is incrementally innovative. Care packages will contain pounds of fresh products and meats that have been preserved properly for transport. The consumer will just need to order online the package of their choosing (differs in type of meat/fruits and vegetables) and be delivered to their places of stay. The packages will sell for as much as $10 for pounds of food which, will relatively cost less than what they'd normally spend for the amount given. This will induce high demand of the packages which, will ultimately lead to stable and great financial income.

Venture Concept:

   This innovation will help ensure the safety of others and reduce the number of transmission of the virus It will also help the ones who are having difficulty, in their respective countries, be able to obtain healthy and affordable food. People would love the idea of not having to go outdoors and risk contracting the virus when, they can stay at home and have affordable, clean food delivered to them. I believe it wouldn't be very difficult to have this product branch out and receive many consumers. The competitors would have to be the companies who possess the ability to carry out the same idea as myself. However, they'd be more reluctant to truly carry out this idea as it wouldn't maximize their profit and/or they'd want to sell the packages for a much higher price.
   Packaging, price points, distribution, and customer support all play a monumental role in my business concept. They will allow for the business to actually take place, and ensure that the business is built on a strong foundation that will help it continue to flourish. I would have a customer service team, production team, and would be in contact with delivery companies as they would provide the delivery support. I would look at the beginning of the project to have more or less 100 employees, and have that amount gradually increase as the high demand begins to kick in.

Three Minor Elements:

1) My most important resource will be the connections I currently have, as they are filled with people who possess the ability to help me achieve the things necessary to properly establish the business.

2) The next opportunity that I'm considering is more for underdeveloped countries, care packages of clothing.

3) In five years, I'd want this venture to still be strong in case of any pandemics and in helping underdeveloped countries, this idea will also branch off into a more, regular purchase for consumers. As an entrepreneur, I want to put the customer's need first, as that would bring more light to my business. This venture will showcase what my business is all about, the people, and this will induce a high consumer rate for years to come.

FEEDBACK:

The feedback I was received was relatively positive. They helped me realize that this opportunity can go above and beyond in the types of products that are within these packages. I changed my venture concept by adding another care package that has hygiene products as a "bonus" for those who purchases the original care package of food, for the underdeveloped countries.

30A- Final Reflection

1) As I began reading posts since the beginning of this class, I have seen drastic changes to the way I think and how I now push myself to get my work done. The lows was definitely trying to find a suitable opportunity that many have not thought of, it took a good minute to think of. The high was most definitely going with the opportunity. It was fun watching the pitches as everyone did their own thing, how they wanted it. The venture concept was a moment of drudgery.

2) The experience that I will remember and that was most accomplishing is getting the chance to do 3 pitches. Before attending UF, I have never done an elevator pitch, so I hope to build upon it. My most joyous experience was being able to interact with others within the respective group and see their journey along the way.

3) Yes, I now see that I am an entrepreneur. Prior to this class, I always thought I was but, I learned I wasn't after all the lectures.

4) I would tell future students to not procrastinate in the class because, it does have times when it can be a lot of work. As well as, what you put forth is what you receive in this class.

27A- Reading Reflection No. 3

I chose to do this reflection on, Thinking, Fast and Slow.

1) The general theme or argument of this book relates to decision making. It gives the reader advice regarding how to think properly and make the best decision depending on the situation one is in.

2) This book connects to ENT3003 by the idea of thinking outside your box and/or getting out the boundaries. Thinking outside the box, generally leads to a better solution to the current problem at hand and/or another opportunity may arrive from the certain project at hand.

3) I would design an assignment that would be connected with people's original opportunity. The assignment would be, think of 10 different ways that can help expand your opportunity via new ideas.

4) The biggest surprise of this book is how the brain tends to act in trying to solve a situation at hand. It is like the brain travels the speed of light in search of the proper solution that will ultimately help you make a decision.

28A- Your Exit Strategy

1) I must say, choosing my exit strategy really made me think of all the different possibilities that derives from each. However, we that being said, I came to the decision of choosing to stay with my business for several decades and retire. 

2) I selected this exit strategy with the though of extra opportunities and/or partnerships that may present themselves in the future. This strategy will allow me to venture off to different subjects in the world thus, helping me mold a true empire.

3) This exit strategy influenced my other decisions in this concept by helping me think outside the box. This allowed to me go beyond what my mind could possibly fathom at a certain point in time, it definitely influenced my growth intentions. I am thinking how I can make this company a real brand name that just does it all, similar to Amazon. However, that is just wishful thinking at this current moment.

26A- Celebrating Failure

1) This past semester I failed a General Chemistry 1 test. In my defense, the second exam that consisted of calorimetry was taken way out of proportion. I studied for countless hours, and I realized when taking the test, this is what it means for when you teach yourself in college.

2) I learned that the studying habits and/or new study methods did not match up well with that certain class. I decided to relate to real life situations, you cannot approach every situation with the same mindset. You have to switch up your game stance.

3) Failure, at first, is pure embarrassment, there is no ifs and buts about it. Emotionally, I start to think to myself, did I really do that? It is like a switch that goes off in my mind, that causes me to go into a moody state. I notice that, behaviorally, I seem to be less motivated through the duration of the day. This class has taught me, that failure will lead to success. Failure is the kickstart in our minds that will not allow us to settle for mediocrity. I am more likely to take a risk now.

25A- What's Next?

Existing Market:

Step 1: I believe that this business is able to be expanded to different type of packages. For example, a clothing package.

Step 2:

21 yr old male- He believes that the business can do something similar to Instacart, and that more effort of ensuring the packages were not touched, such as a tamper evident seal, would greatly help the business.

19 yr old female- She believes that this business could go ways regarding underdeveloped countries. In addition to food care packages, she suggested a medical and/or tools package.

30 yr old male- He says that the business should offer faster delivery. Also, that these packages can be made into, hygiene packages and so on.


Step 3: I completely agree with the feedback of these customers. Why should I settle for this just food packages, when I can put a variety of things within these packages. However, with that being said, in the beginning of the business, I would focus more on the food since it is the most important thing currently.
   In addition, my business can and should have faster delivery to get the products right to the consumers in time. I suppose, that something similar to Instacart can be in the works with local delivers via an app but, there is extreme competition within that field. So, the business must have a huge amount of credibility to be a competitor against the likes.

New Market:

Step 1 and Step 2: Since my business is already a B2C market, I could possibly make it B2B as well. Due to high demand, I just might need that extra "oomph" to have the business be more efficient overall. The thought of having this business venture off to being more than just food, leads to countless possibilities. I can use it for clothing, hygiene, tools, and medical equipment.

Step 3:

35 yr old male- He says this business will help promote social standing, and help people who need to stay indoors, stay indoors. He also suggested adding more bang for their buck, more food.

24 yr old female- She believes that this will help people follow stay at home orders. With that being said, she'd like for the packages to include hygiene so people don't have anymore excuses of going out instead of going to work.

Step 4: Through the feedback, I learned that this business truly can go the distance. There are a countless amount of possibilities that would help it reach its full potential. These recommendations is surely in deep consideration.
   I'm surprised that many people saw more than I thought the business can be. They truly opened my mind and help me realize that it can provide well for the consumers. This new market being added upon the existing market is attractive but, I wouldn't put it above the food packages.

23A- Your Venture's Unfair Advantage

1) Connections
VRIN- My connections are valuable as they are people who are in power. They, themselves, have their own companies and are willing to help due to being close family friends. It's rare because, not many people have that one or two special connections that would seriously jumpstart their idea. Inimitable, it's difficult to have constant, direct contact with those who have their own empire. This is definitely not substitutable.

2) Start-up investment
VRIN- This is valuable because, I have strong financial backing. People do have financial backings but, it may not be as strong. It's not truly difficult to have financial backing because, the bank itself has the power to give people loans. This is not substitutable, money is an essential.

3) UF student
VRIN- This is valuable because, the title of being a student within the top 25 universities in the nation, sits well in the mind of supporters. This is rare due to other students not having the same brand. It's not difficult due to colleges/universities that are known specifically for business. This may be substitutable because, people care more of what you have to offer.

4) Idea
VRIN- This is valuable because, people are more focused on trying to have a stable income instead of helping others and gaining that worldwide respect which, leads to more financial income. It's rare because, not many people have the concept of care packages and/or want to pursue the idea of care packages. It's difficult to imitate because, not many have the connections needed to be able to produce, supply, and deliver to consumers door's worldwide. This is not substitutable, my idea is founded on this.

5) Work Ethic
VRIN- This is valuable because, the drive to get the job done, no matter the circumstances, leads to great success. It's rare due to not many people having the mentality of going out and truly getting what they want. Nowadays, it's a tad bit difficult to know someone who has high work ethic. This is not substitutable, without drive, the work won't be done.

6) Communication
VRIN- This is valuable because, communication is key in getting your idea across and also receiving even further support. It's rare because not many people know how to properly communicate with others, and/or mess up their opportunities during conversation. However, there are people that know how to communicate very well, making this resource not as inimitable. This is not substitutable, communication is key in all things.

7) Passion
VRIN- This is valuable because, with passion, your drive to get what you want in order to succeed, is certainly in reach. This is rare due to not many people having passion, they just sometimes think "sure I'll do it" and drop the project midway. This is a trait that's not as difficult to imitate due to everyone having a passion for something. I suppose this is substitutable for another resource like, grit.

8) Intelligent
VRIN- This is valuable because, being an ingenious individual will surely take you ways. This is rare, as there are people who claim to be "intelligent" but, their actions deem otherwise. This is difficult to imitate because, not everyone has this trait and to gain it is another story. This is not substitutable, you must have some type of wit to keep your project going strong.

9) ENT3003
VRIN- This is valuable because, there are many students in this class and Professor Pryor, himself, who can put in their 2 cents of advice and ideas. This is rare because, there are several other students taking this class as well. This is somewhat difficult to imitate because, not all students have a student body and professor willing to advise them. I believe that resource is not substitutable.

10) Determination
VRIN- This is valuable because, it determines if the project will reach it's goal and if it'll last. It's rare because, many people decide to give up if things don't go the way they'd like. This is difficult to imitate because, not everyone has the strong suit to push after every failure. This is not substitutable, without determination, the project will fail.

My top resource would most definitely be, connections. Connections would greatly help someone jumpstart their idea, and help it come to fruition.

I did not receive any feedback from my second pitch, so I did some self-criticism again. I noticed that I lacked energy, so I decided to do this pitch earlier in the morning. Also, I pictured myself in an actual setting, rather than just the recording device, so I "faked" eye contact around the room.

21A- Reading Reflection No. 2

   I decided to do my reading reflection on, How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, by Scott Adams. It just seemed enticing, the fall and then the come up.

   The general theme and/or argument of this book is mostly about keeping your head up, likewise motivation. There are times where we would be let down by trying to do any sort of activity that seems to occasionally pop up in the mind. However, it is what you do with that which, ultimately causes you to push for success and help you grow mentally.

   In ENT3003, there have been lectures that have been tied to failure because, not everything is sunshine and rainbows all the time. It is through this failure that separates us from the rest, do we continue our goal or do we settle for less. In the mind of an entrepreneur, failure is bound to come and you find your solution, similar to Elon Musk.

   If I could design an exercise based of this book, I would continue the trend of what ways and/or what things can you do that would overcome your failures and brings you to finding the best solution/alternative.

   My biggest 'aha' moment would be, that it isn't necessarily a bad thing to be selfish. If you are able to focus on yourself and reach the point to where you want to be, you'd be able to help others in a more comfortable fashion.

20A- Growing Your Social Capital

Domain Expert:

1) Patrick Paul is an entrepreneur and also CEO and owner of his limousine and pharmaceutical company. He told me of a story of how he began his journey due to God, with only $140 in his bank account. Overall, his story was very inspiring.
2) He is filling the domain expert spot due to his services of being able to produce an item of interest.
3) I came into contact with him at Youth Ministry where I attend church. He came in as a guest speaker. He supplied everyone with his card, personal number, and email.
4) The favors he provided me was information regarding the starting up and being able to produce care packages. Patrick also stated that he would love to hear more about my idea and wants progress.
5) Patrick Paul is an amazing connection, and would most definitely help in any way he can within the industry.

Market Expert:

1) Vladyna Pierre is a woman that I have known for quite a while and has worked with many people.
2) She is filling the market expert because, of her services of conducting customer research in the area of Miami.
3) Like Paul, I have come to known Vladyna from church as well. She was a phone call away as we are very good friends.
4) She told me of her process of researching and wants me to let her know of my process every step of the way.
5) Vladyna is a very reliable connection, she's always there for me and is able to connect me to other people within her respected industry as well.

Important Supplier:

1) East Daniels is a supplier of Patrick Paul's pharmaceutical company.
2) He is filling the important supplier expert because of his ability to sell products regardless of location to others.
3) Paul actually gave me East's contact information and I was able to speak with him.
4) He let me know of the procedures he undertakes to sell the items and wants me to contact him if I ever go through with an opportunity.
5) He's an overall great connect, as he has already been selling products to other organizations and people in different locations.

Reflect:

   This experience taught me to definitely be more broad in my search because, the person can literally be right next to you, and you'd never know. The only difference would be not being able to speak in person due to certain circumstances.

You-

   I am Berteau Eliassaint. I'm a biology major at the University of Florida. I'm athletic, a gamer, cook, and altruistic. I aspire to make money while, keeping the intent to help others. I see the business of creating care packages for all people suffering from pandemics and underdeveloped countries as a means of fully making my aspirations come full circle.

What are you offering to customers?

   I'll be offering customers an alternative in purchasing products to eat. The care package would relatively be less than the cost of food they usually would buy, and would also ensure that it is clean and healthy.

Who are you offering it to?

   The main goal would be to offer the packages primarily to underdeveloped countries and countries fighting a pandemic. The care packages will be sent throughout the Americas, Africa, Antartica, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.

Why do they care?

   They would care because, it's an alternative and a safer bet of eating clean and healthy food. Not only would the packages help many countries who are in need of it but also, help the consumers spend less.

What are your core competencies?


   I would have created care packages that ultimately helps in the fight against hunger and pandemics. All in all, this business requires someone with grit which, I have.

All these elements ultimately fit together because, they're under one primary goal. However, there is the issue being able to kickstart this business. Also, the issue of knowing the right people to deliver these packages to the region.

Feedback Memo:

   Two main points that I received from my feedback were that the care packages would benefit more than just the Chinese market and also adding a taste of charity onto it. I was able to incorporate the feedback into the places I was offering it to and also the core competencies.

   I did not receive any feedback from my previous elevator. So, prior to making this new one, I did some self-criticism. I realized that I seemed very timid thus, causing my sentences to be a bit confusing. I decided to approach this pitch with a better attitude and with more energy.

18A- Create a Customer Avatar

   My prototypical customer is a 32 year old young male of Chinese descent. He loves to cook, enjoy time with his family, and also likes to help those in need whenever he can because, he is a rising pediatrician. My customer drives a maroon Lincoln MKZ. He tends to watch Pretty Little Liars, Stranger Things, and Power. As he is now in his 3rd year of his career, he only has one child, not adopted, as of now. On his off time, he enjoys reading books such as the Harry Potter series, The count of Monte Cristo, and so on. His favorite politician is Bernie Sanders, as he believes Bernie is truly for the people.

   I realized that my customer and I truly have the passion to help others. I also want to become a doctor of some sort but, a dermatologist. I'm not sure of it being a coincidence because, I seem to always come into contact with those in the medical field.

16A- What's Your Secret Sauce

1) Humble- I've been blessed with many things in my life, and my life wasn't always sunshine and rainbows. God brought me a long way in life so, I always use that as a reminder to not put myself above anyone.
2) Loyal- I find myself being faithful to my family, and whoever I'm with in a relationship.
3) Unselfish- I've come to realize that I'm the type of person to put my needs last, to ensure that everyone else gets what they want.
4) Honest- I'm someone who'd always tell the truth regardless of what the situation is. Even if I'm caught up in some type of drama, I'd tell the truth.
5) Passionate- All throughout my life, if I wanted something, I'd immediately have the drive to go and get it. No matter what the odds were/are, I'll get the job done.

Lourdes Mondesir- Lourdes is my ex-girlfriend, we're on good terms. She believes that I'm an open-minded person, able to see the brighter side of things, and have a good heart.

Nylda Jean- Nylda is one of my closest cousins. She believes that I'm humble in the areas that I thrive in, kind, and always willing to/help others in need.

Lixandross Gernier- Lixandross is one of my closest friends since middle school. He believes that I'm able to see problems in a different light and come up with unique solutions to them, and that I'm more caring to others than most,.

Jalen Spence- Jalen is one of my closest friends since high school. He believes that I have the ability to get out of tight situations, intelligent, and that I should calm down more when it comes to emotions.

Shaina Benoit- Shaina is one of my cousin's closest friends. She believes that I'm nice, caring, intelligent, and always helping others.

Reflection:
   I believe that what my friends and family said were accurate and did match up with some of the things I came up with. There are things that I acknowledge that need to be fixed so, I'll do my best to iron them out. I wouldn't make any corrections they all line-up.

15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Interview #1: Close friend who attends FSU
 He states that his preference is to order his materials from an online source. He also said that it depends on the what he's buying to choose either the better price or better quality. To better explain this, he made two examples regarding a pair of socks and a PS4. He'd buy the socks for the better price, and the PS4 that has the better quality. The interviewee states that the purchase would be deemed "good" if it's a necessity. It would be deemed "bad" if he bought it just to have the item in his possession.

Interview #2: One of my roommates
  My roommate states that he prefers buying in-store rather than online. He uses cash to purchase his items, and goes the price route instead of quality. Regarding the purchases, he deems them "good" if it does the job and "bad" if it doesn't work for him.

Interview #3: Young woman from UF bookstore
 She prefers online shopping due to the fact that she can order things from a click of a finger. She also states that quality will always take front seat over prices. They deem the product "good" or "bad" after receiving, testing, and putting it to use. If it's not up to her standards, it's a bad buy.

Conclusion:
 Upon the conclusion of my interviews, I realized that most people would choose quality over price if it were up to standards. My first interviewee would choose either, depending on the item. My second interviewee went the price route, due to being a college student. My third interviewee chose quality because, according to her, quality is better than quantity.

13A- Reading Reflection No. 1

1)  I read about Elon Musk because, I highly believe that his innovations can actually advance today's technology to the standard we believed to have it about a decade ago. A couple of things surprised me, really, he seemed a bit cold-hearted with his employees. I'm assuming that's because of his past experiences in his household growing up. I admire that he knew what type of career he wanted to have at an early age. When I was growing up, I wanted to be Lightning McQueen. So, being able to read about him already doing code was something I'd never imagine doing at a young age. 

   I definitely did not admire him being somewhat, cold-hearted. He did grow up kind of rough and it kind of showed by the way he treated his employees, however, that could've just been his passion for wanting everything to be right in his eyes. Elon Musk, definitely encountered failure. To overcome them, he persistently searched for solutions. It was like trial and error for the most part.

2) One of Elon Musk's competencies is the use of AI. Artificial intelligence is somewhat terrifying when people think about robots but, he uses it to push technology even more as it is used in his cars and rockets.

3) In the later stages of the biography, the author seems to have gained "stalker" esque vibes. All jokes aside, extreme favoritism can clearly be seen and it was hilarious at some points.

4) The first question I'd ask is if there was any other thing that helped him develop his grit to continue to invent. I feel like if you have grit, you sure can go the distance no matter what occurs, Another question would be if about anything he's planning on unveiling to the public in a couple of years from now. I truly want to see how far he can help us advance our modern day tech within a reasonable time frame.

5) I believe the entrepreneurs opinion of hard work was perseverance and grit to continue on, even after many failures, ultimately results in success.

   

14A- Halfway Reflection

1) There is one behavior I have developed while taking this class to keep up with the requirements. I completely stopped procrastination due to how early the assignments are due on Friday. Instead of doing the work the day it is due, I do it a day or two before.

2) A moment when I felt like giving up would have to my first college final exam week. That had to be the most stressful week I have ever gone through. Tests on top of tests, and they were for core classes, the pressure to succeed was definitely on. Honestly speaking, God and my family helped me push through. The motivation started pouring in, and I started studying and passed. I felt like I gained the ability to study for longer periods of time.

3) The first tip is to definitely limit the amount you procrastinate, the work builds up quickly. The second is to stay on the path of your goal, no matter what comes about, stay focused. The third tip is to not stress yourself out, if you need to take a little breather, take it.

12A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

   While thinking of what proper opportunity would sell remarkably to the majority of people and match their daily needs, I thought of care packages of food. In hindsight, everyone loves food and/or craves it on a daily basis, it's a necessity. If I am able to coupe that idea with a package that cost less than the amount they'd spend on groceries, I'd ultimately be hitting a home run.
Interview #1:
  The interviewee states that the care package would definitely be an amazing product. She says it would come in handy when she does not feel like preparing and cooking a meal and/or ordering food. They tend to go on google for solutions and search "cheap food alternatives" and "no delivery fee". They don't talk to family because, they don't want to cause anyone to worry.

Interview #2:
   I interviewed a young woman majoring in business at the Reitz. She adores the idea of the care package because it would help when she is transitioning in and out her apartment for class. She doesn't have much time to really go out and buy food or cook. The interviewee states that she goes on google and searches for "quick food near me" which, opens the google map app. They constantly talk to their friends and family about the situation because, it has become a bit draining for them.

Interview #3:
   I interviewed a man who's an engineer major near Rawlings Hall. He definitely agrees on a product such as the care package and would find himself buying it. He states that the amount of work he has to put in and the amount of material he has to study for engineering, it can be overwhelming. The interviewee doesn't find himself with the proper amount of time to cook and ordering food is costly as it accumulates over time. He also searches google for "cheap food nearby" whenever he gets the chance. They do stay in contact with their family to let them know of the situation.

   To conclude, I've found that all my interviewee's have the issue regarding time in common. They are either too busy studying or in class to prepare food beforehand. In terms of need awareness, this segment does match the need of quick and accessible healthy food to the majority. In terms of information search, they always search google for a solution.

You-

   I am Berteau Eliassaint. I'm a biology major at the University of Florida. I'm athletic, a gamer, cook, and altruistic. I aspire to make money while, keeping the intent to help others. I see the business of creating care packages for the people in China as a means of fully making my aspirations come full circle.

What are you offering to customers?

   I'll be offering customers an alternative in purchasing products to eat. The care package would relatively be less than the cost of food they usually would buy, and would also ensure that it is clean and healthy.

Who are you offering it to?

   The main goal would be to offer the packages primarily to the citizens of China, as that's where the coronavirus has appeared most recently. After success in the region, I would branch off the product to other regions.

Why do they care?

   They would care because, it's an alternative and a safer bet of eating clean and healthy food. Not only would it minimize the risk of obtaining the zoonotic disease but, ultimately help the consumer spend less money.

What are your core competencies?

   I would have created care packages that ultimately helps in the fight against the coronavirus. All in all, this business requires someone with grit which, I have.

All these elements ultimately fit together because, they're under one primary goal. However, there is the issue being able to kickstart this business. Also, the issue of knowing the right people to deliver these packages to the region.

9A- Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Who: I was able to interview 5 more people in the Reitz. While, there were definitely some that agreed with me on the idea of care packages, there were some that believed that was a tad bit excessive.

1. The first two females I interviewed agreed that something needed to be done regarding the virus but, they believed the efforts of creating care packages was excessive and that other measures can be done to help the people eat healthier.
2.  I was interviewing a guy near the career connections center when another one overheard us speaking and decided to join on the interview as well. They both believed that the care package could be seen as a "dirty" way to profit off a sickness and would rather want a medication to be made as a solution.
3.  I decided to interview another female. She stated that the virus isn't necessarily that big of a deal, she believes medication is already making its way, and that the care package wouldn't be beneficial.

What: A problem regarding this situation is not everyone would want to eat from outside sources. They'd rather stay native which, still leads to the problem of knowing whether an animal is carrying a zoonotic disease or not.

Why: People have the ability to eat healthier and can also choose to eat meat that aren't rodents.

8A- Solving the problem

   To begin with, there are current solutions that are available to deal with the coronavirus while we wait for the proper treatments to make its way. Quarantine sections are being made and kept within airports to minimize the spread of the virus. Other ways would be by being able to provide something similar of a care package of food, such as the ones soldiers use, and selling them for cheaper then the cost of how much people usually pay for food in China. For this opportunity, the only issue would be the cost of production and shipping. However, with that being said, the amount of packages bought by the people in China, otherwise known as the usage rate, would greatly overcome the cost of production.

   A epidemic is occurring through the eating of animals that contain zoonotic diseases. If a care package of food were to be sold for relatively cheaper than the cost of food in China, the more of the care packages people would buy. The more packages being bought, the more profit continues to build up steadily. It is like one who invests with a small amount of money, they won't really see the profit made for a couple of years. This idea, however, does ensure profit to be made early on due to low prices, usage rate, and hopefully outside sources bringing attention to the product. It's a win-win situation, the people are eating relatively healthier and money is still being made, minimizing the risks of obtaining the virus from certain food.

Coronavirus Prevention

Opportunity: The coronavirus has been taking the world by storm, striking the people with fear due to to people eating and/or getting bitten by animals that have a high chance of carrying zoonotic diseases.
The who: The people of China
The what: They are susceptible to coronavirus because it's a zoonotic disease
The why: People are eating and/or getting bitten by animals that carry such diseases

Testing the who: There are others who have this need. In fact, the whole world has this need.
Testing the what: Zoonotic diseases have the ability to transmit through a variety of ways. All diseases such as the coronavirus are a challenge to treat. It's even more of a dire situation as those who now have the illness are running out of time due to the fact that there is no medications. This is a growing epidemic.
Testing the why: I'm not entirely sure why people persist on eating animals that carry zoonotic diseases such as, bats. There are ways to combat viruses such as the coronavirus and to stop others from appearing. This opportunity would push to ensure the safety and health of countless of people worldwide.

Interview #1:
I interviewed a first year student in the Reitz union. He believed that everyone is at risk of the coronavirus due to how easily it spreads. The interviewee also states that it's a challenge to treat because, it's an epidemic. When asked why people have the desire to eat things that carry zoonotic diseases, he states that people would eat anything with enough spices.

Interview #2:
I interviewed a young woman. She believes that the people in China are the ones most in danger and also that the virus isn't as big as people are making it out to be. She states that the virus shouldn't be difficult to treat if people were to be more cautious of what they ate.

Interview #3:
I interviewed an aspiring nurse. She also believes that only the people in China is at risk for this disease. She states that the challenge is difficult to treat to minimize the virus because, of how easily it can spread even during times of treatment. She also believes that people continue to eat animals that carry the diseases because, they didn't know beforehand and/or it simply tastes good.

Interview #4
I interviewed a 4th year student who is going to begin dental school this coming fall. He states that the virus is overall dangerous and that all humans lives are at stake. He believes that it is a great challenge to treat the virus due to scientists not knowing exactly where to begin the treatment. The interviewee also believes that some people are eating animals with zoonotic diseases against their will and/or that it's the only thing they have available to eat.

Interview #5
I interviewed a volunteer at Shands Hospital. She thinks that the virus is truly heartbreaking and that many lives are at danger due to it being an epidemic. The virus has the ability of being contained if quarantine sections are placed. She also says that people eat what is available to them.

  From the interviews, I was able to perceive different perspectives from everyone regarding why people ate zoonotic diseased animals but, they all had in common that the virus was dangerous. They did seem frightened at the fact of how easily the virus could spread. The real eye opener for me was, the volunteer at Shands Hospital. She touched upon the resolution of having quarantine sections which, is actually being done currently. I believe this has the chance of greatly minimizing the disease from spreading like wildfire as we get closer to making proper treatment.

6A- Identifying Opportunities in Economic and Regulatory Trends

4) They're addressing the need by keeping their hands clean and avoiding contact with their facial features.
5) I'm 90% sure that the opportunity to contain this virus exists.

First Year Student

   I interviewed a first year student. He believes that a travel ban needs to be put in place and quarantine to contain the virus. He states that every time he comes across a meme of it online, it causes him to worry. He believes that the need of the ban comes from the protection of the population and, that there is a sense of urgency in creating a vaccine to stop the virus from spreading.

   I interviewed a young woman while at the Reitz. She believes that a broader understanding of the virus must be made known before a cure can be made. Once people know of what causes the sickness to strengthen or weaken then a cure can be made into effect properly. The thought of the virus only arises when their friend brings it up. She says that there are a few individuals going to Africa to test a vaccine that can potentially cure the virus which, would lessen the startling of the country since the virus came into fruition.

Senior in High school

   I interviewed an honor roll student at a high school. She believes that a vaccine is not the answer but, a pill to contain the virus to a minimum would be the better solution. The issue of the virus tends to stay on the back of her mind. She states that the need of a solution came from the outburst of the public. She also states that people aren't truly addressing the situation but, just waiting and watching.

REFLECT:

   I learned that some people do share the same views with me regarding a vaccine or using a quarantine to contain the virus. What caught my eye was, the solution of using travel bans, this could work well but, have its side effects. I was quite shocked that the senior told me that a vaccine shouldn't be made but, a pill to just lessen the effects of the virus. The virus would still be in the system and not completely killed off.

SUMMARY:

   I believe a good 80% of the opportunity still exists. The new opportunity is more accurate, as travel bans would contain the virus which, creates time for a vaccine to be made properly. I believe that the opportunities should be adapted to feedback because, it shows that the safety of the country comes first.

My Entrepreneurship Story

   To begin with, the High School that I attended to prior to UF, used to host on specific days, "Career Days". A diversity of professions would come and interact with the students and provide a brief background of how they came to be. I vividly remember one man, who just happened to be an entrepreneur. Growing up, I always wanted to make money, so this was the perfect treat. He started up his own pharmaceutical company, and to date now has a limo company as well. The entrepreneur told us, the class, to always think outside the box and to not stay limited to one idea or how you could approach that one idea. The greater you broaden your horizons, the more influence you have on yourself to truly flourish in any set thing you place your mind on. These words have since been apart of my life, and I motivate myself to bring it into being.

 

   I enrolled into ENT3003 to learn more and have a much more stable foundation in entrepreneurship. Knowledge holds the key to a variety things, thus creating opportunities for more than just one form of success. ENT3003 also just happened to be an elective that I was able to take, so it all worked out well in the end.

REFLECTION:
   To begin with, this Bug List activity was overall fun to do. I was thinking of procrastinating and doing it the day it was due but, I am glad I forced myself to do it in advanced. It was not entirely too difficult to do but, it caused me to think deeply and truly find what bugged me. I started off on a slow pace when doing the assignment but, when I reached the fifth bug, the bugs started hitting me left and right. When we realize the things that bug us, we never think about what causes it, we usually just get aggravated and leave it at that. This assignment helped me to comprehend the mind of an entrepreneur. They think beyond what most people do thus, causing them to be more susceptible of being able to create things and find solutions. All in all, I'm now able to think more outside of the box.
